RE: CPS Takes a Couple's 2 Children, Hospital 'Puts Down' the Sick Baby, and Foster Care Keeps the Other Child

in #familyprotection6 years ago

A baby is born in October with congenital heart disease and the parents don't take him to the doctor until Feb of the next year....WHAT? Again a baby is born in October with congenital heart disease and the parents don't take him to the doctor until Feb of the next year. That's the real big problem I have with this story...healthy babies are seen within a couple weeks of being released from a hospital just to make sure things are going fine, that's why they call them well baby checks. Now given they had a seriously ill infant and never once took him to see a doctor for better of five months is telling that something is really off with these parents, in fact it wasn't until they took the baby to a hospital that CPS was called, meaning the baby was seriously ill and needed protecting from parents who neglected to take a seriously ill child to a doctor for five months! By that time it was already to late. I don't know what the success rate is on infants who need heart surgery but this isn't something you go home and write on a calendar to do in six months it's something that any parent on this earth would find a avenue to get their extremely ill child seen. You don't sit there and say oh he seems fine, the cars broken, he seems fine, the cars broken again, you just don't. I don't have any sympathy for these parents at all. They couldn't even get their healthy child to school, then try and explain it away as we kept her out while we looked for a way to home school her....no you send her while you look. It's the law, it applies to everybody. It's not just that they didn't send her to school but she's messed up mentally....that didn't just suddenly happen, that also happens at the hands of neglect. Any seven year old child needing psychiatric drugs is telling of the type of parents we are dealing with here. There is underlying causes to the problems these children suffered and it goes way beyond a broken down car. Their refusal and questioning of having to do drug drops is very telling of what these parents were more interested in doing than taking care of and paying attention to their parental responsibilities.
