You must be pretty close to the fire to get all that ash? Thankfully, we were only effected by Canadian fires for a few days this summer. Much less than the last couple summers.
The front eastern edge is about 50 miles from us but the winds have been blowing right at us for days now. The temps have been hot, humidity low, but we have a good chance of storms saturday so hopefully the fire gets a good dousing.
