Guide for the broiler breeding.

Greetings my dear community, today in the weekly theme of @farms, we will talk about what we should know to start raising chickens, for the commercialization of these birds and the economic benefits that we could obtain.

Here I leave my small contribution, I hope it will be very useful.

Place of location and dimensions of the house:

• The direction of the wind should be taken into account since the odors emanating from bird droppings can generate viruses and make them sick.

• Must have a height of at least 3.5 meters, as this will allow better oxygenation to these birds.

• The space between the columns for the placement of the mesh should be considered, which is recommended for the house where the chickens will be, since this will allow the flow of natural air.

What we should have in the house.

• We will start with the basics, which would be the feeders and drinkers sufficient for the amount of chickens that are going to breed.

• An adequate place to store the food and water that will be used.

• The shed should also have curtains that avoid strong air currents and low temperatures.

• It should be taken into account that the temperature of the chick is the first one is from 26ºC to 28ºC, therefore heat must be supplied to keep them, unlike when they have 3 weeks they must be placed fans to keep them cool and prevent heart attack and death of the bird

• It is necessary to encourage babies to eat and drink water.
From 7 days to 14 days:

• At this stage, heat generators are no longer used, unless the weather is very cold.
• The food changes from pre-starter to starter, which is a semi-swollen food.

• In this stage the vaccines are placed to the chicks and more space is released in the house.

• The temperature must also be maintained at 28ºC

From 14 to 21 days:

• In this stage, the reinforcement of the vaccines is placed and the chicks are given more space, the curtains are lowered to refresh the house and as the crescent chicks will go down.

From 21 to 42 days:

• At this stage the feed from starter to fattening is changed, which is granulated and guarantees the weight of the chickens.

• From here the chicken will grow and its temperature will increase. You will also have more thirst and your water consumption will increase.

• The fans will be on during the day and during hot nights.

• Noises should be avoided that stress the chickens, such as machinery, dog barking.

• At this stage chickens due to weight and increased body temperature are prone to heart attacks, so they should be kept quiet.

• If you live in tropical weather it is not advisable to enter the house between 10am and 4pm, because this can cause infarction to the birds, due to stress.

Finally at 42 days the birds are taken to the slaughterhouse trying to do this at night or at dawn hours to avoid stress and death from heart attack.
