Amazing post my friend, you are totally right....indeed steem along side @farms would feed the world.
But i have a question for you?... if you had the opportunity to make a difference with steem, how would you assist others to fight against poverty in your country.

First and foremost i intend to introduce people to the steemit and for that matter #steemchurch and #farms, enlighten them on following their passion and unearthing creativity, innovation and hidden talents.
In some few years back Ghana was part of the leading producers of cocoa, the land is rich and full of minerals and supports most crops that one may plant, however due to low agricultural support and lack of equipments most people have left the agriculture production industry in search of "greener pastures", now if through steemit i could reach out to people help them make enough to support themselves and their work and even help with some these equipments, they may start patronizing agriculture production again, products that used to perish easily due to lack of storage may be kept better and bring more profit, this may go a long way to help alleviate poverty.
Furthermore, one major source of poverty in my country as already in indicated in my ariticle is lack of passion for what people do, most people can't not follow their passion because they may not be able to support themselves thus they end up where they ain't supposed to be, their work morale is down, the don't give out the best they could thus affecting productivity and national progress on a larger scale, an artist who may have ended up making million dollar paintings goes to nursing training school in order to get some allowance to support himself and the family, a nursing trainee take roughly 400 cedis monthly and equivalent of 28 STEEM, if people like that can make this amount on steemit through with the help of #steemchurch and #farms these people would be able to follow their passion, increase productivity and development of the nation as a whole and allevate poverty in the process.
In my own way of helping alleviate poverty i am building a steemit community on campus here at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, a team of students with the passion to support society, we go by the name #eliminatingblindess (because most of us are optometry students) and our main focus is on helping the deprived communities by providing means of earning (eg. introducing steemit community to others), performing free eye examinations and free treatment for ocular conditions diagnosed.
