POULTRY FARMING – ONE OF THE MOST PROFITABLE AGRICULTURAL BUSINESS IN WEST AFRICA

Poultry farming mean raising various domestic birds use for the purpose meat, eggs and feather product.

The wells know poultry birds are chicken. As we know millions of chicken has been rise every day to serve as a mean of food for human consumption.

Poultry can be manage easy and with a small capital one can start rearing of bird which takes little time for them to mature and be consumable.

There are two way of poultry farming:

1. LOCAL POULTRY FARMING: This is local way of taking care of chicken or other birds. This is process where the chickens are not caged, the owner will free them to play around and seek food by themselves to grow and mature. This way expose chicken to various them danger and not well taking care of which are use particularly for meat consumption and reproduction
   
   2 MODERN POULTRY FARMING: This is quite different from the local way chicken are caged or be lock in a room well taking care of in modern with lot equipment fist for usefulness and growth of the chicken. The chickens are study and well talking of with food which are aid the chicken growth fast. These are used for commercial laying egg, meat consumption, etc.

1. FASTER MATURITY: Chicken mature faster than other bird if well taking care of and can be ready for consumption early.

2. LARGE MARKET DEMAND: In western part of Africa chicken are demanded more for and most especially egg for consumption of young and old on a daily basis because of the low price of it.

3. FASTER REPRODUCTION: Birds reproduce fast and this allow more demand on a daily basis for consumption

4. RICH IN PROTEIN: Chicken are rich in protein, there nutrient are for healthy body and very delicious and taste good.
