Ulog #1: My Fashionable Band Uniforms for the Charter Day #1

Hello my dear Steemians! Our Charter Day is fast approaching and each school is bound to show their best in band presentation including costumes. I will show you my creations and I hope you will appreciate it.

Shown above is the band majorette thus her color is in blue instead of yellow to make a distinction between the minorettes. A cape is likewise provided to show that she is the leader of the band.

The girl in yellow is the leader of the minorettes.

Actually, each school changes their uniforms every three years to which I was chosen to be the fashion designer in the high school department. I accepted one with 28 members for girls and I delegated the boys' uniforms to the tailors.

Those in blue are the flag bearers. Their design should be lighter and more simple so as not to overshadow the frontal view of the band.

Before accepting the given design, I do the calculations first and the kind of fabrics to be used, then I make the necessary alterations that will meet the available materials in the market. The reason is that it will take a longer time to finish the project if the needed materials is hard to find. As the case may be, I always find or look for other options of fair quality too.

First thing and foremost, I do not canvass for customers. The head teacher approaches me first to make the negotiation and I see to it that they pay in cash. The reason is that I wanted to shop and buy in bulk before I make the patterns.

There are other dressmakers in our locality but I guess they liked my style and durability. That is the reason why I did not hire dressmakers. I don't like dirty works. I only hire manpower for the patchwork, basting, putting of hooks and beige.

Good showmanship will give you a good feedback and it becomes your trademark . To think that I haven't undergone a formal training in dressmaking makes their faces in awe as to why I am a good seamstress. Well, I just said that if you like what you are doing and you believe you can do it, all you need to do is learn how to sew and observe how they made it.
