Another Visitor!

Well a not so happy one. Last year I posted about a bird flying into our home and here we are graced with another visitor. Maybe it’s the smell of essential oils that keeps them coming. 😄

We believe it flew in through the front door while loading in some items. I was in my room when I heard the flapping of it’s wings. I stuck my head out the door and there it was at the top of the stairway.

Now of course me being a little nervous of being clawed I decided to grab the camera and take some shots of him with the door slightly open. I wasn’t letting this little guy in our room hahaha!

The kids were so excited that we had another visitor. They stuck their heads out from the room door to give a peek but every time the bird took flight they hurried to close it just in case.

My husband started to usher it out toward the front door gently with a broom. After so long you could tell he was so ready to get out of here. I was afraid it would hurt itself by flying to the ceiling so fast bumping into it. The last place it landed upstairs was in front of the room our children were in. They kept yelling out,

Mom we see it’s feet! This is so cool!

He stood there for awhile looking around trying to find a way to escape. His face tells it all...

Finally it flew downstairs into the dining room. My husband opened the back patio door to encourage him to fly out. Well we lost him for a moment. We didn’t hear any flapping or chirping and couldn’t find where it had landed. After 30 minutes I slowly crept into the dining room, looked behind one of the chairs in the corner and saw it looking up at me. It looked so timid. It seems he decided to stay quiet and pretend it had left so we wouldn’t mess with him. My husband helped him get to the door and happily he flew out and away.

This will definitely be one of those memories our kids will have for a lifetime. They will remember how birds kept flying into our home to visit. It is hard to resist the smell of essential oils! 😅

Thanks for Reading about our flightful visitor!

Poor little birdie!

I lol’d at your essential oils reference!

We got a baby seagull into the kitchen last week. Poor fellow was more scared than we were.

Sometimes we birds stuck in our house too. They just have no idea how to get out. Windows don't make sense to them. The bird will be flapping into a window over and over two feet away from a wide open door, lol.

My roommate just grabs them with her bare hands and tosses them out the front door. I'm not brave enough yet to do it.

Fun to have a visitor and so glad it finally found its way back out!I can imagine how excited the kids were. Thanks for sharing your adventures with #featheredfriday!

Hahaha I love how fed up he looks, such a harsh expression, definitely worth a painting :P I'm glad he was able to leave in good shape!

Thanks for sharing!

Looks to be some sort of weaver bird you have there @crosheille we have the birds fly in every so often.

Good way for children to learn about nature, when it comes in, helping the little one out.

Aw - I love birds, and you got some great photos of that one! He looks very cross :D Such a treat for the kids.
We had a sadder experience when we were kids and a bird flew into our house. My dad picked it up very gently and tried to take it outside, but it simply died of fright.

Bah ha ha! He does NOT look amused! Glad you got him out safely!

😂😂😂!!

He wasn’t at all!
