Red Bellied Woodpecker
Hello Steemians
This woodpecker is very common this time of year,
constantly at feeders, and easy to spot in the wild
due to a lack of greenery.
They range from the most southern........
area of Canada, I think due to the number
of people that feed them, and as far south as Florida.
Easily identified, the female doesn't have a
red crown, like the male does.
Their population has actually increased.....
Male with the red crown
over the last 50 years and are estimated at
10 million adults in the U.S.

I was just looking at her photos...lol...thank you!
Howdy there karbon! it's a gorgeous bird and a beautiful photo!
Thanks @janton, might be a few of them in Texas, but you
would have to look pretty hard I think.
Howdy there Karbon! Those are very fine pictures and a fine looking bird too. Someone actually keeps track of how many millions of birds there are?
Thanks, yes, they have bird counts, volunteers go out and count.
Amazing how many bird groups there are.
Howdy there karbon! Are you in one of those bird groups?
