Smart and Final Healthy Onions San Diego California #feedme Post
Yellow, white, and purple onions are on display at my local Smart and Final in San Diego California. I’m going to get one of these onions on almost every trip to add to the healthy food I make at home. Behind the onions, you can see colorful varieties of sweet potatoes and regular potatoes which I also buy at times.
I use onions primarily for taste. I really like the sharp flavor if they are chopped raw into a sandwich or salad. And they are mild and yummy when cooked. I have a good onion pasta recipe I will share soon that puts onions in the spotlight, and really features the taste. But I also add smaller amounts to almost any savory food I cook.
As far as health benefits, onions are said to be anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antiviral, and anti-cancer. Those reasons are all good reasons to eat onions even if I did not like them so much.
