RE: ❌Gender stereotypes: what my University professors say about women and why I am NOT voting for Putin in presidential elections

Very nice article Vika! A problem in our world today for sure, unfortunately. I also don't like the argument some guys use especially when it comes to dating, "Women want to be treated equally, so I guess I don't have to open the door, pull out the chair, etc." Which is wrong being a gentleman has nothing to do with it. haha Anyways great article. I am also not voting for Putin. Not that I can, but if I could, I wouldn't. :) I hope you are having an awesome week!

Well every woman just like every man is different. I dont need those things. Id rather be respected in other ways ...as a team player. So these are small things but more important is how do you speak to her ? How do you treat her?

I think maybe you are missing my point. My point is You can still be respected and treated as equals, but also do nice things for the other person, regardless if they are capable or not, like opening their door, and pulling out their chair. Which goes along with what you said about "how you treat her".

You are missing my point but oh well. Im tired.

lol I probably was. :) but ultimately I think we are on the same page. Treat each other like equals, be kind, thoughtful, and I guess it comes down to the different love languages as well, some people appreciate other gestures more. For me I like to be a gentleman, not because I don't think the girl is in capable of doing those things, but because I think it is a nice gesture. But I also open doors for everyone not just women, and not only for women I might be interested in. I think the "intent" behind the gesture, the act of kindness, thoughtfulness, words, etc, whatever it might be, is important.

Thanks for you opinions, @mrchef111 and @limabeing!
I believe there’s no right or wrong for being a gentlemen. I don’t like it from a perspective of “a man trying to please a particular woman” but I do appreciate it from a point of “being polite equally towards everyone”. And I definitely think that behind every action should be not only a strong respect but an understanding of a feministic agenda and how those actions may or may not be perceived
