The ogres worked to salvage what they could of a meal meant to last them an entire day's light. Their heads lifted when another small dog-like creature came shuffling into their camp with a crazed look on its face, and a strange object in its hand. Oondil, the female ogre and the band's leader, growled. The others stood upright with weapons in hand. The brazen little knoll didn't slow, and the ogres held their ground.

"Looks like we eating today afterall." Oondil billowed with a wry smile.

"That you shall, big thing! But it is not I who will fill your bellies this day!"

The ogres looked alarmed. One of the males in the back of the group spoke up. "It talked..."

Fippy barked a few times and the male ogres jumped back. "And you will listen if you wish to escape the wrath of the knolls of Blackburrow!"

Oondil stepped forward, now gripping her spear with both hands, "You think we listen to you? I think you try to take our soup and now we throw you in the pot!" The other ogres chuckled in agreement.

"No, you listen big thing!"

Oondil growled again and the other three ogres encricled the knoll in a flash with hungry eyes and drooling chins. They were faster than the looked, and much bigger up close.

Fippy swallowed. It was now or never. He gripped his scepter. "Listen well big things. It was I who awokened you out of your complacency to help save your stew. It was I who have come to you now without fear. And it is I, Fippy Darkpaw, last of my family's clan Sabretooth, who will place a curse upon you if you do not abide by me. The great and horrible curse of clan Sabretooth!" Fippy thursted his scepter dramatically into the air. The orcs flinched and stood staring dumbfounded. The turtle's head poked out and nipped, slowly, at nothing. There was a moment of silence. The breeze whispered by, and all four ogres fell into hysterical laughter. The male's fell onto their backs roaring, and Oondil pee'd a little. Fippy looked irritated.

"Alright, little one, we listen. What you do for me and my ogres?"

Fippy let the moment sink in. He smiled, and became serious again. "You are out here because the disgusting city at the water's edge has spurned you. I will give it back to you."

"And how you do that, little one?"

Fippy waited until all the mocking laughter had subsided and the other ogres gave their full attention.

"With all the warriors of Blackburrow, and the strength of you and your kin at the forefront of our charge."

The ogres smiled at one another. Oondil, most of all, was amused. Not for a second did she think that Qeynos could be overtaken so simply, however, the hard and lonely days of scavenging with her three companions needed a vacation.

Would this little knoll provide an army to overthrow the city? Not even ogres were dumb enough to believe that. But raiding parties tended to take on a life of their own. That sounded more promising. She rubbed her chin. "We do this for you on one condition."
