Capsule Film Review: Inside Edge (1992)

Michael Madsen in one of his first starring roles plays Montana, police detective determined to fight crime through most direct and violent methods. Following failed drug bust, Montana starts his own undercover investigation targetting drug boss Gio (played by Richard Lynch) and gets involved with Gio’s attractive mistress (played by Rosie Vela). In this routine police B-thriller, there is less action and more drama, with few routine erotic scenes thrown for good measures. Madsen, otherwise great actor, is incredibly irritating, while singer and former model Rosie Vela leaves much better impression in noirish femme fatale role.
