Plot

Warren and Spencer, two young middle class mired in the disenchantment of common life and who will rebel against the system by planning to steal a university library.

Opinion

Basically in the film we see the story of how four young university students, Warren, Spencer, Eric and Chas, begin to plan the theft of an extremely valuable edition of John James Audubon's The Birds of America and other rare books, which are found in the Transylvania University library's. On the one hand, it shows the actors interpreting the events, and on the other, it shows people in real life narrating their experience from their point of view, sometimes even the director of the film plays with what the narrators say and fuses fiction with reality.

The film has a good rhythm, Bart Layton, the director, does a very good job from the technical point of view, making the experience of the narrated story much better than it would be otherwise. The script written by Layton also was balanced, tries to convey the depth that is required but keeping everything simple and uncomplicated, making the story light and fun.

The performances are really very good, especially Evan Peters, who plays a young rebel, and who becomes the leader and main driver of the plan. Barry Keoghan also does a good job, plays a young artist who despite not having a great motivation to carry out the crime, is attracted by his own idea. Blake Jenner, on the other hand, does an acceptable job, his character is someone trained for success, raised by his father to be an entrepreneur, sees in the theft of the library a business opportunity. Finally, Jared Abrahamson, who does an acceptable job as well, is in charge of interpreting a young university student who is alone and bored, and who evidently feels that the university classes are no challenge for him, so he is called by the character interpreted by Evan Peters to help organize the plan.

The film is maintained at a level between regular and good, something that is true is that I was entertained all the time, I was not bored, and I think that is mainly because the director is responsible for the story remains dynamic.
