This Film is really all about Phoenix!
A film about a psycho, a man who saw to much, a hired gun, conspiracy and violence.
Yeah the film is hard and violent but not as brutal as you think, even after the first sighting. Most of the violence plays just in the heads of the audience, similar to "Psycho". There are also multiple homages to it in "You were never really here".
I'm just a little sad that we see the serious and interesting topic of the film just through the eyes of a sick man and don't dive into it. Would be great stuff for a Fincher thriller. But "A beautiful day" which is the other title for the film isn't about it.
It is just about a guy. A sick and broken man. Joe.

Dieser Film dreht sich tatsächlich voll und ganz um Phoenix!
Ein Film über einen Psycho, einen Mann der zu viel gesehen hat, einen Auftragsmörder, Verschwörung und Gewalt.
Ja richtig der Film ist hart und gewalttätig, aber nicht so brutal wie es nach der ersten Sichtung scheint. Ganz wie bei "Psycho" spielt sich ein Großteil der Gewalt in den Köpfen der Zuschauer ab. In "You were never really here" finden zu zudem mehrere Homagen an "Psycho".
Ich bin lediglich etwas enttäuscht, dass wir das ernste und interessante Thema des Filmes lediglich durch die Augen eines kranken Mannes sehen und nicht tiefer in die Materie eintauchen durften.
Es wäre sicher ein guter Stoff für einen Fincher Thriller.
"A beautiful day" wie der Film auch vermarktet wird, geht jedoch um etwas anderes.
Es geht nur um einen Typen, einen kranken und gebrochenen Mann. Joe.
