I don't expect to read a wilder interpretation :)) This really is over the top, starting with the peg legged lady, going through the forgery, and ending with the spiders in a still-beating heart. I don't know if you evoke Poe or Stephen King, but there's no way the reader's attention lags. You hold us to the bizarre, ghoulish end. Well done. And yes, happy Halloween.
