Our bodies are the only vehicle we have to take us through life, and as I get older, I feel like I've been mistreating it, or rather the mistreatment becomes more apparent than it was in my 20s. I now have to walk a delicate balance between what I eat, drink, do, when I sleep, how long I sleep, how I interact with people and more.

I think we try to freeball life so much and outsource too much of what goes into our bodies and minds to the external world and we neglect our bodies in more ways than one. If we don't feel well we pop a pill, we feel hungry we get some company to make us something to eat, which is usually all a bunch of shit.

We speak to psychiatrists for our mental state, we see medical practitioners for our aches and pains, but we never actually look at the person using the body or rather misusing the body.

Bankrupting your body

Just like the sims gives you a barometer of your various health stats you have that in real life too, it's only not visible, it comes in the form of feelings. When we bankrupt our body of specific resources, a warning light will go off, and we see that was hunger, pain, thirst, ailments, sadness, and the list goes on.

The human body as remarkable longevity if you take into account all the ways you use it each day and all the punishment you inflict on it. We also can push our tolerance levels way past the brink and even train our bodies to become more resistant to certain things if we take care of it.

But the modern person does not; they use their body without a second thought, its all about chasing the next stimuli.

Balancing your body

This is something I struggle with every day, and I'm finding out what I need by process of trial and error since everyone's combinations are different and need to be tailored to get the best out of their body.

Looking at habits I have, if they are beneficial, how I should change them, how they make me feel and how I can get the most of our my time here.

Be it through eating, resting, reading, meditating, working, training and more. The moment I start to feel unbalanced by perceptions start to change and I am not as productive as I should be, I struggle to make it through simple tasks and my sharpness is lost.

Trying to find your balance and working our your budget isn't easy but I think its something worth considering each day.
