My entry for the 🌸 FLOWER POWER PHOTO CONTEST BY FLAMINGIRL 🌸
A great new contest for flower photos! It seems this contest goes on all week and there is a daily winner. You can enter each day.

My entry for day 2 is this red plumed Celosia blossom.
The name comes from the Ancient Greek word κήλεος (kḗleos), meaning "burning," and that seems appropriate for this bright colored bloom!
Celosia is an edible annual that is easy to grow in a bright sunny location. Butterflies love it and it lasts a long time in cut flower arrangements.
This one was growing at the local Botanical Garden. Between the lack of sunlight and the deer snacking on my flower garden I have a difficult time having flowers down here in the woods!

What a fabulous flower! Such a saturated color - really looks like a flames of a fire!
They are brilliant and stand out in the garden!
What a brilliant red, really gorgeous !
The yellow and orange ones are beauties, too!
Deer love beautiful flowers too :)
They certainly do! It's been a challenge finding a few that I can grow that they do not like the taste of!
This flower truely is like fire, the colour is so intense. Beautiful photo!
Thanks! Big congrats on being the Day One winner! I was quite thrilled when I saw that. Well deserved!
And big thank you for your support!
Red, love and strength... 😀
I like that! Red is a great color!
Seeing the red color of the flower, I remembered a word. "Love is like a beautiful flower, which may not be held, but the smell of making a garden becomes a happy place." Helen Keller. "It's beautiful.
Thanks for this My Friend
Thanks! Good quote, too! ❤️
Thanks, Melinda. I have always been an admirer of that bloom and now I know its name. I love the orange and yellow version too:)
I like the orange and yellow is the best! I like knowing the names of flowers, then each year I can greet them like old friends!
