Flower friday and some bonus spiders
I was visiting a friend the other night and he wanted to show me his Delicious Monster which was in flower. Monstera deliciosa is one of the Philodendron family and the fruits it produces are edible.
If you can get past the sight of the spider, there's a fruit forming just to the left of the open flower
Imagine our surprise when he shone the torch up there (the plant is the height of the roof) and we saw a big huntsman spider hanging out in the flower. Huntsman spiders are nocturnal and hunt geckos and other larger insects such as moths. So of course we had to drag out a rickety ladder and prop it against the wall so that I could take pictures of said spider, who obliged us by posing and not running away.
When I was taking a look at his hydroponic growing rooms, this dude, also a Huntsman, was hanging out on the electrical board.
The hydroponic setup was interesting, but for a whole lot of reasons, it would be best not to describe that setup in any detail. I'll leave it to your imagination as to why.
I hope that this spider is not poisonous and does not pose a danger to humans.
They aren't dangerous at all. Just very big
Too many spiders in that house!! 😱😱😱

Holy cow, these spiders can get huge ....
But they are cute!
I wonder if we have these big spiders here! But our resident geckos are pretty big!
