Its Saturday night, phone buzzing endlessly, my girlfriends want to hang out and a sleepover is booked with another sweetheart, because its the weekend, at the same time there is a talk show with Terry that is to happen at midnight on discord. I made the hard decision to stay back and join in on the discord talk.

Believe me, staying back and tuning in was the best decision, especially because i missed out last week to watch the UCL finals game between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

By 11:55PM, i was tuned in, ready with my note pad, waiting for the talk to start. 

Terry came in at around 12:04am, he started by playing us a song that someone had composed for @ulogs. it was basically a song of gratitude for the opportunity ulogs has brought forth for most steemians

There was a bit of network issues on my side, and i think on Terrys as well , but it stabilized after some time.

On this day , @surpassinggoogle wanted  to discuss on an un popped question (questions that are in peoples mind but were never processed or formed), because sometimes we are just unable to pop the question unless someone brings it up. 

He said , a member (s) of the community was (re) concerned about:

1) The future of steemit in relation to us, and why steemit is not on fire when it comes to a larger crowd. 

2)why steemit is not using conventional adds, with a powerful figure that is possibly a woman like the way Dash (a cryptocurrency) did in their early stages with a Woman called Amanda.

The answer

first of all to start with little bit of the history.

steemit did something and Terry says what they did is genius.  Truth is, from the onset,  people may not jump on steemit even at the sight of money because of apprehension of hoping and basically the internet. He said even for him, after hearing about steemit for the first time, he did not opt in immediately, But name steemit still evolved and stuck in his head, he kept digging untill he came to find out more and noticed steemit greatly involved @neds (the founder ) mom. 

 1. Steemit is Genius, Steemit is Organic .

• When he saw steemit the second time through a post, there was a chemistry and therefore he joined the platform , it was pure and an organic type of entry. 

He further added that he has  been there a long time and he sees the beauty that is steemit. For Instance now imagine when all research queries on google involve steemit. and the tactic of passing through search engine is where the genius comes in, which was steemit marketing strategy, they left it in the hands of the community.

This also helped him see another paradigm on steemit, which is anyone and everyone. when You remove market barriers and involve everyone, it involves billions. 

In the model of Facebook, there was no billions in the model, thats why you will see the billions in the users not the model.

2. Steemit is the Dream within the Vision, providing a pathway to the Steem Blockchain 

• He sees beauty in what steemit is doing, he envisions and sees the main vision as it creates many gateways to the steemit blochchain.  steemit is un censorable, unlike google and facebook that control matters behind the scenes.

He also spoke about his you tube channel. its not just a way to crown steemit, its tied also to a possible interface in the future.  a timeliness factor to it, we need inspiration, excitement and a measure of Terry  to inspire us on out steemit journey

• its something grand, out of the boxness. He created the channel because he wanted to reach out to everyone, as many as possible. he plans to answer questions that will reach to people that he is unable to reach, welcome new steemians, guide them through and be their true fan. 

•  Everyone has something to offer . Power lies in the hands of the illiterate, don't over look it, if possible, be one.  There power even int he smallest of posts and he is here to  give tinniest things testimonial essence. Terry is trully passionate about helping us, all of us and even the brother next door that drops a comment on your post by giving their comment an upvote and every one has value in the community, giving testiomonial essence and reminding every minnow that they are the future of steemit, the whales to be.   He removes all barriers to curation while leaving no stone un turned.  

•   Serve as an additional mirror . While the steemit and others platforms within only provide information to people within, he looks forward to reaching more people via Youtube 

He also pointed out something every important, and one of the secrets to succeeding on steemit. He said one must not look at steem as money,when you tackle this simple thing, you will succeed in steem. 

e.g

When you look at someones post based on their earnings as compared to steemit price. if for instance steem is valued at 0.7 cents, the earnings on the post would not be as valued as much. 

same as when you scan through your history and see that someone sent you 0.1 cents with a link on memo to their blog . usually this is considered as spam, but the same wouldn't be considered as spam  if steem value was at $10.

These are some of the words of wisdom  that i grasped from the talk show with @surpassingoogle.  

There were in fact more special moments on last nights show that have qualified to me as some of the best moments with steemians ever since i joined this community, i will share them with you on my next post.
