Papeda.
Unique food typical of this archipelago comes from the Land of Papua where the inland people there do not make rice as a staple food everyday like Indonesian people in general but make sago as their staple food everyday. Pure sago flour is stored in a device called Tumang. The name of the main food of the indigenous Papuan people is called "Papeda" which is usually eaten with a kind of yellow sauce curry containing tuna fish or mubara fish and then seasoned with unyit and lime.
