Sushi Mentai - Gratitude #10

When my kids were young there weren’t many sushi joints around. Sushi King was the go-to restaurant when we wanted Japanese food. Any other restaurant was too far away and too costly (for me, at least).

Back then I wasn’t crazy about sushi but two of my boys were so we had it occasionally. We used to go to Sushi King. It was pretty much everywhere. The food was okay at first but in time we found that the quality deteriorated.

Luckily more Japanese restaurants popped up nearby like Rakuzen in Pyramid, Sakae Sushi in Subang Parade, and Sushi Zanmai in Main Place. The food was really good but they were not wallet-friendly. We only ate at those restaurants on special occasions.

Then came Sushi Mentai! OMG! I couldn’t believe how affordable it is, even for my standards! The main menu has just two prices, RM1.80 and RM2.80! And the food is good! @reconstitution, Jack and I take what we want from the conveyor belt and are out of there in 15 minutes!

This place is so affordable we go practically every week. The other wonderful thing is there’s a branch in USJ9, very near us! That’s where we had lunch today 😋

My taste for sushi has changed through time. I really enjoy it now but can only eat about 6 pieces at each visit. These 👇🏻 are my favourites and all I need 😊
