Cheapest but Best Dinner We Had in France! - Le Vicompté, Fécamp

We arrived at the restaurant at around 8:30 PM, we weren't too surprised that there weren't any other people there at that point. Everybody seems to eat a lot later in France, than we would in Belgium for example. The decor reminder me of long forgotten times and the host was an older gentleman, who was very friendly while he explained all the dishes.

This place had really good reviews, with people commenting that they offered honest tasty food at reasonable prices. They weren't exaggerating, our whole menu only cost 21 euros for 4 courses!

I went with something I had never eaten before in my life, matelote of dogfish. A matelote is a red wine fish stew, which seems to be a very old type of cooking. The flavors packed into that dish were simply amazing. Never knew that red wine would work that well with white fish.

Jeanine opted for the lamb shank, you could tell that it had been stewing for a couple of hours. The meat just fell right off the bone and the sauce was just very rich and delicious. We didn't take too many pictures during the meal, but we got some of our main courses.

Our bill remained under 50 euros when we were done, mind you that we also had half a bottle of wine. Great experience overall and will certainly go back there one day.
