His name is El Cumbre
At least that what all the locals call him.
In my investigations I found that his name seems to come from the particular shape of his hat and the peculiar circumstances of life in a Spanish town. While this information was given freely it did take some time to get all the pieces of the story. After much waiting I have the story of his name.
During the days El Cumbre travels the streets of the town delivering the varied produce items that only he seemed to have access to. The town, being in typical style, has most streets lined with block walls surrounding each residence built at the standard 1.8 meters high. I make note of this because El Cumbre happens to be just that tall himself.
The sight of his hat seemingly floating along the tops of the walls caused the people to give him the name El Cumbre. The hat was of such a form and rigidity that it almost perfectly matched the tallest peak in the nearby mountain range which played a major role in their culture. El Cumbre took the name as a compliment and enjoyed the minor level of local celebrity that he experienced with nearly everyone greeting him warmly. The children liked to listen to his tales of wandering various streets around the countryside and always plied him for bits of exotic fruits that he kept stashed in his pack.
