The whipping miracle of Miracle Whip
Kraft Miracle Whip introduced to the market year 1933 at the Chicago World Fair. People address it as "Dressing" rather than "Mayonnaise".
What?? Though all my life I consider it Mayo!
Well, surprise surprise! It isn't a Mayo.

For a food to be considered as "Mayonnaise", it has to have 65% vegetable oil by weight. Kraft confirmed that its oil content is lower to meet the standard. Confirmation was made while still keeping Kraft Miracle Whip's exact oil content a secret.
So, it is not a mayo!
Though it contains Mayo's key ingredients such as eggs, soybean oil, vinegar and water.
It is still isn't a Mayo!
- They differ in taste.
Miracle Whip has a sweet, spicy flavor that majority prefers.
How does Kraft Miracle win the crowd's heart? It has something to do with the history.
- They differ in price.
During the depression, Kraft Miracle Whip's alluring cheap price made people afford the said as an alternative to highfalutin Mayo.

Came to a point where Kraft Miracle Whip was even used for baking to replace the expensive oil and fresh eggs.
The very first recipe developed during World War II

Miracle Whip as one of the recipe has been in the list of most requested baking recipe over the past 75 years.
Make and bake for 40 minutes!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup Miracle whip (salad dressing not mayonnaise!!)
1/2 cup Baking cocoa
2 tsp Vanilla
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Baking soda
4 oz Squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup Granulated sugar
2 dashes of Salt
5 cup Powdered sugar
2 1/4 cup Cake flour

Oh, i didn't know there is a difference. All I thought was it is a food I can put beside meal or in between my sandwich.
Kraft's wise move to produce goods that are essential. Their items is still in my mom's grocery list.
