How to make Nigerian chin chin

in #food6 years ago

Hi everybody It is your girl once again @iamdodo.

Today I will be posting my own recipe on how to make Nigerian chin chin. It is crunchy on the outside and soft inside.

I have tweaked different recipes together to from what I love and enjoy also I made a variation and came up with chocolate chin chin.

You really need to try this and it is so delicious and easy to make.

You will need:
Flour 250g
Sugar 100g
Butter 100g
Egg 1
Coconut milk 1\2 cup
Coconut flavor 1tsp
Nutmeg a pinch
Salt a pinch
Veg oil (to fry) 75cl

My method:
Cream together the sugar and the butter and make it fluffy a little bit, beat in the eggs, coconut milk and flavor and mix together until well combined.
Add the nutmeg and salt to the flour and mix together.
Pour the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix together until you get a non sticky dough.
You may need to add extra flour if your dough is sticky.
Dust your work surface with a little bit of flour.
Turn the dough mixture on it and knead a little bit.
After this get your rolling pin or the good old bottle in your house and begin to roll the dough out.
Flatten it ,till it is about half of an inch thick.
Then cut into desired shapes with a scissors or knife.
When you are through with the whole dough, heat up a pot and pour in the vegetable oil.
When it is a little bit hot, not too hot though so you won't burn your chin chin, add the chin chin and fry in batches until you are through.
Let it cool and now you can enjoy your wonderful chin chin with a glass of warm milk.
Enjoy.

Thanks for reading.
