Mohammed Al Ansari is a well-known and popular figure in Dubai. The 82-year-old left Iran in 1941 and settled in the city where, 35 years ago, he opened a restaurant serving traditional dishes from his homeland.
He Opened in 1978 and named after a childhood friend with the last name Ostadi now known as Al ustad special kebab, The restaurant serves mainly south Iranian cuisine of meat, chicken dishes and kebabs.

Start your evening with nice hot chicken soup checking out the menu aside thinking what to order.

"I love seeing my customers grow older with me," Mohammed says. "Customers came with their babies, and now these babies are coming here with their own babies. I feel like everyone's grandfather."
Ahmed and Ali, two young Emiratis arriving for lunch, say they first came to the restaurant with their parents and continued coming back as adults.
"It is not about the food, but about the atmosphere and cosiness of the place,"
Even though parking is a big issue in Bur Dubai, it doesn't deter him or many others from coming to the restaurant.
"It is like going over to a relative's house, not to a restaurant," Ahmed says.

The small Bur Dubai restaurant is decorated with thousands of pictures of people who have eaten in the restaurant and met its late proprietor, various trinkets from around the word and clocks set to various Middle Eastern country’s times (that we’re not entirely convinced actually work, but were too engrossed in eating to really notice). The menu is short and sweet. It consists of chicken soup, hummus, kebabs, kebabs and more kebabs, all served with either rice or bread and slices of onion, tomato, cucumber and a small dish of garlic sauce.

Dont forget to try their saffron rice.it's really amazing !
Staff are quirky and personable and aren’t afraid to pick your meal for you if you’re unsure what to order. You’ll get a comprehensive assortment of grilled meats that are all outstanding; we could not find fault here. And as well as the delicious, juicy marinated meats, the price will put a smile on your face, too. A generous meal for two will set you back a little over Dhs100, making this restaurant a must-try. Be prepared to queue for a table and persevere. It’s well worth it.Its a great choice to take your family for a dinner or your friend depends,how you like enjoying your time eating those yummy kebabs.

Lastly i want to try this amazing chickpeas hamoos with olive oil to add a great taste to your dinner.it goes great with arabic bread also called khaboos in dubai.
