How to Make Honey Chilli Potato

For Frying Potatoes:
1.Take two potatoes and cut them into slices in a bowl.
2.In the bowl add corn flour, salt and red chilli powder.
3.Toss them well so that the mixture coats the sliced potatoes properly.
4.Now heat oil in a broad pan and deep fry the potatoes on medium flame till golden brown and crisp.

5.Do not fry on high flame otherwise they will burn from outside and remain uncooked from inside.
6.In another pan dry roast the sesame seeds on low heat till light brown and keep aside.
For Preparing Honey Chilli Sauce:
1.Heat oil and add garlic, ginger, whole red chillies, chilli flakes and tomato sauce. Stir well.
2.Now add chilli sauce, vinegar, honey and salt. Mix all the ingredients well to make a sauce.
3.Add the fried potatoes and coat them well with the sauce.
4.Toss well and sprinkle the roasted sesame seeds and spring onions.
5.Combine the ingredients well and serve the crunchy honey chilli potatoes immediately.

Do you think this would work with oven-baked fries? I make those and they are good, but I haven't experimented with the seasonings much (salt & garlic powder). This sure sounds like a delicious combination!

Sure. Blanch the potatoes and season them , set aside for 15 min. Get good crispyness

Already mouth watering. love it

Have you tried experimenting the recipe by mixing in steak or chicken nuggets?

chicken yes. Meat sounds nice -will try

It's great to have other options that people can have for chips.
I don't remember when I started bringing them to a boil and then letting them cool before coating them with oil and putting in the oven, but it made a huge difference to getting them done in the middle and crispy on the outside. The corn flour is a good idea too - I've also used seasoned flour, like with paprika.

More recently, my best oven chips started out in a jar! I had some extra space when I was canning and some extra potatoes, so I canned two quarts of chips. At my altitude, with a water bath canner, I have to do everything non-acidic or containing meat for over 5 hours! I was sure the potatoes would be mush at the end of it... but they weren't. And when I oiled them and put them under the grill, it just worked a treat! Perfect oven chips (in the US, the broiler is in the oven, we don't have those grill pans above the hob.)
