Having a healthy breakfast is a phrase well known to many, but do you follow it?

For people that do have busy mornings, it's easy to let breakfast rank the least n your lost of priorities, but taking just a few minutes to have good food to eat can really make a huge difference to your day. If you don't have time to eat before leaving the house, there are lots of breakfast ideas that can be eaten on-the-go or when you get to your place of work.

Breakfast Avails Us Many Benefits To Our Health and General Well-being

Breakfast provides the body and brain with fuel after going without food over the night - that's where it's name originates, breaking the fast! Going without breakfast is like trying to start and drive a car without petrol in it. Apart from providing us with energy, studies show that eating not just anything as breakfast but a healthy breakfast can help give you:

  • A higher concentration of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.
  • Improved performance and concentration level in the field of work or play.
  • A lower level of cholestorol.

Eating breakfast is very important for everyone, but is especially so for children and adolescents. Over the years, experts have used studies to show the importance of breakfast and how it enhances performance in children both the classroom, and on the playground. Children who eat breakfast experience better concentration and have sound problem-solving skills.

Good Breakfast Choices


When choosing what you should have for breakfast, try to incorporate whole foods that are full of nutrients. Examples include oatmeal, yoghurt, eggs, fruits and whole wheat toast. Reduce or limit the intake of sugary cereals, white bread and other highly processed foods.

Why Shouldn't You Skip Breakfast?

These are a few reasons

  1. You start your day hungry, you get tired easily and fast too. Since your blood glucose levels have not been restored to the normal level, you will be low on energy.
  2. When you get hungry, you tend to eat just about anything available, sugary or packed with fat and there goes your diet with every bite.
  3. Your brain refuses to pick up speed when your body is low on fuel. Next thing, you lose concentration.
  4. And because you skipped breakfast, your mood is low .You snap at everyone or anything. You get irritable.
  5. Contrary to popular belief, staying hungry doesn't help you lose weight. Eating healthy and doing the right exercises does.

Now stop making excuses of lack of time for missing breakfast, start your day with a really healthy breakfast. And don't forget that there's nothing you can do to make up for missing breakfast. Rise, eat, shine.

Eating good breakfast like the choice above, we will definitely have sound good health. But me I don't like taking breakfast, but with this I will try.

Mmmm... I really try not to skip breakfast but most times it doesn't work. Also I was once told that the best time to eat breakfast is between the early hours of the morning to 9am. Well thanks for sharing this. I will try and consciously not skip breakfast and eat healthy and wisely when I do.
