Fried Sauerkraut with Pasta - A Simple Dish That I like.
Sauerkraut when fried up has a very original taste and if you like sauerkraut it does not guarantee that you will like it stir fried.
I do.
Add some pasta to it and I can eat it all day long!
It is quick and easy to make.
Ingredients
Half a pickled cabbage - sauerkraut (or shredded, not sure what you have available at your supermarket)
1 onion
250 grams of pasta
pepper
pinch of salt (1 pinch is plenty, because the cabbage is salty)
dab of oil
smoked meats, but you don't need this if you don't want too. (I like some smoked sausages or meat in my recipe)
Step 1
Dice up the cabbage and onion.
Put your pasta to boil in a separate pot.
Step 2
Stir fry your onion and cabbage on the dab of oil.
MAKE SURE TO CONSTANTLY FRY! NO TAKING A BREAK.
Step 3
Keep stir frying the mix until the cabbage shrinks to about half its volume. Approximately 20 minutes.
Then add your smoked meats and keep stir frying for another 10 minutes.
This is how it should look when finished.
& then you can mix it all together and serve.
This is one of my favorite dishes I can eat this every day.
