Went for a walk - had a 3 course meal. Eating what nature provides

I love this time of the year. You can't walk anywhere here in Wales without nature tempting you with some of her goodies.

I started my 3 course meal with some delicious Hazelnuts. Its actually a little early, but I noticed a few lovely nuts hanging off a branch and thought I'd try some.

Like I said its still a little early in the year and I didn't hold out much hope for these to have a juicy nut inside.... But I was mistsken

So I picked a pocket full and went on my merry way.

Next up for mains I wanted something crunchy, sweet and satisfying. Unfortunately I couldn't find a cake shop, so headed towards an old apple tree I knew always delivered great eating apples.

Once again, I thought to myself "it's a little early in the year, but let's check it out".

Low and behold the tree was packed with decent sized eating apples. Unlike most "crab apples" we have growing wild here in the UK, the ones from this tree are really nice (and trust me I've tried a few wild apples)

Yum, yum, yum!!

So what's for dessert?

I was really fancying something sweet, so I headed for my secret blackberry stash. Its tucked away from the main footpath and always produces the biggest, juiciest blackberries.

Now I don't know why I've uploaded this photo..... It doesn't do the blackberrys justice. I suppose I was too busy munching my own body weight in free fruit to take too many pics.

Once again, it's still early in the summer for blackberry to be out and this juicy. We did have a mild, wet spring and a few heatwaves through out early summer and that's probably caused all these nuts and fruit to come out early.

I'm hoping that they can past right through till early autumn and keep me well fed on my long walks.
