Benefits of Coconut and my Raw Coconut Smoothie Recipe

Coconuts have many healing properties and can be used for multiple uses.  Coconuts are considered a "superfood".

The Lauric Acid in coconut oil can kill fungi, viruses and bacterias. 

- Coconuts are anti-vrial, antibacterial and anti-parasitic which help to reduce any bad bacterias from harming us. Long of the short the oil can help to fight off infections.

Coconut oil is great for your hair and your skin!  

- Lather your hair with 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil before bed, place a shower cap over your head, get a good nights rest.  When you awake, take a shower and  your hair will be glowing all day. Rub coconut oil onto your face to keep it looking young and fresh.  It can also block UV sun rays.

Can help to curb your large appetite.  

- It provides your body with an instant source of energy and because of it's high fiber content, can make you feel full longer.

Coconut Oil Pulling- I do this several times a week.  

- Take one tablespoon of oil and swish it around in your mouth for 20 minutes.  The fat molecules in the oil adhere to the bacteria in your mouth and eliminate the toxic substances in your mouth.  Long-term can help to prevent  gingivitis and will help to strengthen your teeth, jaw and gums.  It's also believed that oil pulling helps with vision, reduces allergies, clears up your complexion, aids with digestion, helps kidney function and more. It makes sense, normally when we wake up our breath is bad from the built up bacteria.  Most people swallow that bacteria before brushing their teeth.  It's very beneficial to remove that bacteria my pulling. You do not want to swallow the oil after it's been swished around in your mouth because it is now filled with bacteria and can make you very sick.  I always spit mine out into the trash can because it's not good to have a build of of oil down the drain as well.  Please research oil pulling before you attempt this and you may even want to consult a physician before you try it.

Coconuts are loaded with nutrients. 

Choose to eat coconut meat, drink coconut milk or coconut water, or cook or consume coconut oil.  Coconuts are loaded with electrolytes and contain a large amount of potassium and calcium.  They are loaded with vitamins and minerals, and not to mention they taste amazing.  Personally, I love to buy a whole coconut, crack it open, pour the water into a blender, dig out the meat, add ice and enjoy one of the freshest most delicious raw coconut smoothies.
