This was lunchtime at the Lodge Paradize. The #foodmodel here is the Salted Egg Fish Skin which is so good, even if you are not a fan, it will convert you.
A little back story to this place. Back in the 90's, this place The Lodge was very well known for its Teowchew Porridge. Clubbers in the city, would converge here after a night of partying. It was the go to for supper for the infamous Teowchew Porridge which is served with a variety of condiments like anchovies, salted egg, stir-fried vegetables, black bean fish, pickled vege, you could choose from over 10 choices.
The place would be packed til the wee hours of the morn. And I believe it is still the place to go to for the porridge. But I have found something new that I would recommend to anyone in an instant. The Salted Egg Fish Skin is so good, your tastebuds will explode with joy while you enjoy the view.
Yes, there's small pool in there with a fountain, right in the middle of town. Great for a lunch away from the hustle and bustle in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It is on Jalan Sultan Ismail, in the heart of the city and the prices are pretty decent too. And if and when you make it there, please do try the Fish Skin and tell me it isn't the best you've tried...
