Vietnam's Best Kept Secret Detox Tea

There was a lady on the street in Hoi An making something that smelled incredibly amazing.

I didn't care what it was.

I had to try it.

The tea gremlin inside of me wouldn't calm down until I did.

It's a tea called "nước thảo mộc nước đặc sản."

In google translate, that means "The Power Of Water."

So, if that's any indicator, this tea is some strong stuff!!

And what's in the power of this water? Lotus flower, ginger, lemongrass, cinnamon and "lemon."

The reason I put lemon in quotes is because I think it's really either a lemon impostor...

...or another epic google translate fail.

Have you ever seen a lemon that looks like this?

If it's a lemon, then it bumped it's head 20 different times (and now has a ton of tiny bumps all over it). Maybe it's just what an Asian lemon looks like and I shouldn't discriminate it from the lemon family based on its looks. I love how it looks just because I've never seen a fruit like that before.

So maybe the lemon is a poser. Maybe it's really a lemon. I don't know.

All I know for sure is this drink was everywhere in Hoi An, and for .50 cents a cup, it's a great deal. Plus it's healthier than just injecting something like chocolate coffee straight into your blood stream (I would be happy if someone could just hook me up to a chocolate iv, though, to be honest).

The most famous restaurant where you can get this tea is called "Mot" and it's super cute and looks like this:

To be honest, though, I also bought some of this tea from a lady on the street and I might have liked hers SLIGHTLY better. It was a close call.

For the sake of telling myself that I made a healthier choice than injecting myself with a pure chocolate sugar rush, I'll tell you about all of the herbal benefits this tea has (and I'll just conveniently ignore the fact that it's probably loaded with sugar).

Lotus flower is good for digestion, inflammation, lowering blood pressure and treating ulcers. It basically aids with all the gastric stuff.

I don't know what I think about Ying and Yang, but apparently this tea has the perfect balance of it.

And I do know balance is always an epic win. You don't get rewards for falling off of the balance beam, that's for sure.

Because of that, its also able to reduce stress and relieve hangovers! Maybe that's why they sell it next to the 10 cent alcohol!

That's some powerful water, indeed!
