Jasmine rice and chicken
Red curry paste, coconut milk, bamboo shoot, bell peppers, string beans, kaffir line leaves and fresh basil leaves.
I was not prepared for this slap to my flavor pallet! At first I was skeptical because the order included coconut milk and I was unsure of how it was to be incorporated into the dish. I was not expecting a curry soup but was pleasantly surprised! The combination of veggies and spices blended together perfectly in bowl. A perfect mix of spicy and flavorful. The jasmine rice helped to cut back on some of the heat and tied the entire dish together. Exquisite!
Last Friday the lovely @ginanicole and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at the Laos Cafe in South Philly. This was our second attempt at utilizing at $25 gift card I got from Restaurant.com. Our first choice was somewhat of a let down. The food and atmosphere was decent but the staff refused to honor the gift card because I ordered “the special” and insisted that we return another day in order to use coupon.

As soon as we enter the front of the cafe, you are met with delicious smells of fresh food being prepared and the young, smiling faces of the wait staff. The decor was bright and modern. The walls were a combination of soft grays and light brown colors with sparse images of Buddha and painted landscapes.
