The first World Cup trophy, Jules Rimet, was lost for seven days in 1966 before being found by a dog named Pickles.

The 'Jules Rimet' trophy is a trophy awarded to World Cup winners from 1930 to 1970. The trophy's name is taken from the name of former FIFA president Jules Rimet, who has served since 1921 to 1954.

Counting the trophy twice is stolen. The first theft took place in London, England, in 1966. The second theft took place in Brazil in 1983.

The trophy was first stolen in an exhibition at Central Hall, Westminster, London in 1966. At that time, the trophy with a pure gold is worth 30 thousand pounds, or about Rp557 million.

The trophy was gone when in a nearby place there was a church event near Central Hall. It is known there are two guards hired from a security company called Alsa-Guard, to vigil in the exhibition hall.

Jules Rimet disappeared for about a week. Edward Bletcheley as a suspect was captured, but the trophy is still hidden somewhere. Until finally the locals, David Corbett, and his pet dog, Pickles find this trophy.

Initially, Corbett was walking casually with Pickles past a garden fence on the outskirts of Beulah Hill, South Nortwood, South London. The area is about 12 kilometers from Central Hall.

"I was on my way to the pay phone because my sister's wife wanted to have a child, I took this dog [Pickles] and she suddenly ran around my neighbor's car There was a package near the front tire, the package was wrapped tightly," Corbett said as quoted from the Mirror.

"I was wondering if it was a bomb, so I picked it up, and put it back in. I tore the bottom a bit and I saw a shield, I immediately recognized it and thought, 'Here it is!'," He added.

Club Crystal Palace fans immediately rushed to tell his wife who is not so fond of soccer. Corbett's wife was confused.

For his findings, Corbett was mistaken for criminals, arrested, and interrogated by local detectives.

"But I know that I'm clean [in the right position], so I let them ask all the questions they want," Corbett said.

When the police sent Corbett home, another challenge was waiting at home: the media crew. Suddenly the whole city of London and the world knows about the historic event.

Unfortunately, Corbett had to lose Pickles a year later Pickles who died in 1967. The detective dog was buried in Corbett's yard.

"I think he's the most famous dog in the sport world," he said.

Jules Rimet Missing again
Seventeen years later, the Julies Rimet trophy was again stolen. A banker who claims to be an Atletico Mineiro club agent, Sergio Pereira Ayres, is the mastermind behind the theft. Ayres involved two men in action ie former police officer Chico Barbudo and decorator Luiz Bigode.

Barbudo and Bigode entered the Confederation of Brazil football building after paralyzing two night guards. They stole the Jules Rimet trophy and two other trophies.

Mystery of the loss of trophy 'Jules Rimet' the second time this is confusing a lot of people. Allegedly, the thief has melted the gold-plated trophy.

'Jules Rimet' then replaced by a World Cup trophy in the form of two human figures carrying the globe since 1974 until today.
