Liverpool recorded their 8th win of the season after a straight forward 4-1 win at home to struggling Cardiff city.

Mo Salah opened the scoring in the 10th minute, his 4th goal in three games when he converted from close range after Mane's shot was blocked.

Mane put Liverpool two goals up before Callum Paterson tapped in a cross to give Cardiff city hope.

Intensity increased as Cardiff tried to score an equaliser but the Liverpool's defence was resistant.

Xherdan Shaqiri's first league goal for Liverpool put the game to bed before Mane fired in the 4th.

Liverpool are still unbeaten and winners of eight of their 10 matches, have 26 points, three clear of champions Manchester City who will reclaim top spot if they beat Tottenham Hotspur on Monday evening.

Neil Warnock 's Cardiff side remain 17th with just five points from their opening 10 matches.
