Football Fan Banned For 10 Years.

The fan who attacked Aston Villa captain, Jack Grealish at Birmingham over the weekend has been sentence to to 14 weeks imprisonment.

27-year old Paul Mitchell from Rubery got onto the pitch in the early minutes of the Derby match between Birmingham City and Aston Villa and hit Grealish from behind the head and neck.

He pleaded guilty to both charges and has been sentence to 14 weeks imprisonment in addition to a fine of £350, of which £100 would be paid to Grealish as damages.

He also has been given a 10-year ban from all stadium footballing activities with his lawyer saying afterwards that Mitchell did not know what overcame him as his initial intent was to go on to the and gear the fans.

Birmingham also released a statement condemning the act and said, Jack Grealish is a Birmingham boy regardless of whether his allegiance lies with Villa or City and that the fan, Mitchell has been banned from St. Andrews for life.

Grealish went on to score the only and winning goal of the match later on to overshadow the earlier event.

On the same day, a fan ran onto the pitch to poke Chris Smalling in the game between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates.

Arsenal went on to win the game 2-0 courtesy of goals from Granit Xhaka and a penalty kick from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to end Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's 100 percent Premier League record away from home.
