Three For The Boot

Liverpool's Mohammed Salah would have accepted the Premier League Golden Shoe as a consolation for missing out on the Premier League title, only if he did not have to share the much coveted prize.

Salah would have to share the award with fellow strike partner and teammate, Sadio Mane and Arsenal's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, as the trio finished on 22 goals each.

Going into the final day of the league, Salah was on 22 goals with Mane and Aubameyang both on 20 and it looked like he was destined to take it for the second successive season after firing his way to 32 goals in his debut season last season.

It was not to be as Mane grabbed a brace on either side of the half, giving Liverpool a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield.

Aubameyang continuing his fine scoring form after netting a hatrick against Valencia at the Mestalla on Thursday, scored twice against Burnley at Turf Moor as Arsenal ran away 3-1 winners but sat outside the top four by just a point.

Coincidentally, the trio were also the finalist at the 2018 CAF African Player of the Year Award with Salah winning that, Mane and Aubameyang coming first and second runner-up respectively.

This is how the 2018/2019 Premier League Top 10 Goalscorers chart looks like
