Transfer Gist: Barcelona Sign Lenglet From Sevilla For £31.7 million
Barcelona have signed defender Clement Lenglet from rivals Sevilla having met his £31.7 million release clause.
The French defender has long been linked with the La Liga champions and has signed a five-year contract until 2023.
Included in his deal is a £264 million release clause with Barcelona ready to put off interest in the much sought after defender.
Lenglet caught the eyes of many top European clubs after switching from Nancy to Seville in January 2017.
Manchester United were reported to be interested in his signature but the French International has opted to remain in Spain.
He joins a league of emerging young French talents at the Camp Nou, joining the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Digne and Ousmanne Dembele.
He made 70 appearances at Sevilla, scoring four goals.
