TRANSFERS: Arsenal In Saliba Hot Chase
Arsenal are reported to be in talks to sign Saint Etienne central defender William Saliba.
Arsenal are understood to be negotiating a deal that would see the youngster loaned back to France for the 2019/2020 season while he rejoins the Gunners in the summer of 2020.
The deal could be one that eases the pressure on Arsenal's finances, as they look to source fund for the signing of Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace and left back, Kieran Tierney from Celtic.
Roland Romeyer, St Etienne's President last week confirmed that the defender would be playing for the Ligue 1 side next season.
He said it is a necessary condition and clause that would be included in the contract, should an agreement be reached.
The 18-year old featured 19 times for Saint Etienne last season in all competitions and was rewarded with a new contract that expires in the summer of 2020.
