Former French international, Zinedine Zidane has been rẹ-appointed by Real Madrid, barely 10 months after leaving the European Champions.

The 46-year old left his position as Real Madrid coach in May after successfully guiding the Los Blancos to their third successive Champions League title.

He was immediately replaced by former Spain manager, Julen Lopetegui who was sacked just few days to tẹ start of the world cup after his appointment was announced by Real Madrid.

Lopetegui did not last up to five months before Madrid also laid him off following a run of poor form and he was replaced by second team manager, Santiago Solari who was given a caretaker role in November until 2021.

Since Zidane's departure, Madrid have more or less been in shambles, shuttling between low par performances and fair outings.

Solari was sacked following his team's come-from-vehind 4-1 victory over Real Valladolid at the weekend.

The star that broke the camel's back for Solari was most definitely the disgraceful outing against Ajax in the Champions League at midweek.

Real Madrid lost the game 4-1 on the night in front of their own fans, despite having come into the game with a 2-1 first leg advantage.

The elimination from the Champions League followed two successive losses to Barcelona in the El-Classico, making their title challenge a top hill and eliminating them from the Copa del Rey.

It is reported that one of the reasons Zidane returns to the club is that, he would have total control of them and determine who goes and comes in, the lack of which warranted his exit in the summer.
