Gianluigi Buffon played the last game of his career at Juventus on Saturday, a club he played for 17 seasons, and was dismissed with a 2-1 win against Hellas Verona in Serie A.
The goalkeeper announced his goodbye in an emotional press conference on Thursday and was received on Saturday by the fans of the Allianz Stadium in Turin with a large banner that represented him while holding the "Scudetto" conquered this season.
The 40-year-old captain of Juventus left the starting line and played 63 minutes before being replaced and receiving a long and intense ovation from the public, from his team-mates and also from the Verona players.
The goalkeeper closed in this way his long and successful career in the "bianconero" group, with which he won 19 trophies; his last season ends with a double, Scudetto and Copa Italia.
