UEFA Nations League 2018
Hello Steemians! How y'all doing? This year us gonna be awesome in every field but the only thing i'm excited for is Football. FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League, Europa league and many more. And the latest tournament announced is the UEFA Nations League. It is little bit like World cup but with Leagues and divisions. The top 55 member associations of UEFA will take part and will help to improve the quality of national team football.
Note:This competition is for only European countries
The Format--
The format of the Nations League will feature promotion and relegation. The League phase was held yesterday.
League A The teams are split into four groups of three, with the group winners the contesting the UEFA Nations League finals in june 2019 to become the winners. The four teams that finish bottom will be relegated to League B for the 2020 edition. League A teams- Group 1: Germany, France, Netherlands Group 2: Belgium, Switzerland, Iceland Group 3: Portugal, Italy, Poland Group 4: Spain, England, Croatia
League B Teams split into four groups of three. The four group winners will be promoted to League A and the teams that finish bottom will be relegated to League C.
League B teams-
Group 1: Slovakia, Ukraine, Czech Republic
Group 2: Russia, Sweden, Turkey
Group 3: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland
Group 4: Wales, Republic of Ireland, DenmarkLeague C Teams split into one group of three(containing teams from 1,2 and 3 only) and three groups of four. The group winners will be promoted to League B, and the bottom teams will be relegated to League D. League C teams- Group 1: Scotland, Albania, Israel Group 2: Hungary, Greece, Finland, Estonia Group 3: Slovenia, Norway, Bulgaria, Cyprus Group 4: Romania, Serbia, Montenegro, Lithuania
League D teams- Group 1: Georgia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Andorra Group 2: Belarus, Luxembourg, Moldova, San Marino Group 3: Azerbaijan, Faroe Islands, Malta, Kosovo Group 4: FYR Macedonia, Armenia, Liechtenstein, Gibraltar
League A includes the top-ranked sides and League D includes the lowest
League A and B consist of four groups of three teams. League C comprises one group of four sides and the League D is formed by four groups of four teams.
In addition, the UEFA Nations League will provide teams with another chance to qualify for the UEFA EURO final tournament, with four sides qualifying through play-off matches which take place in March 2020.
