Belgium ends World Cup hopes for Brazil

Belgium secured yet another great World Cup win as they knocked out Brazil off the tournament in quarterfinals. Improved Roberto Martinez’ side (with Marouane Fellaini and Nacer Chadli among starting 11) did well to withstand heaviest pressure from the very beginning and then stunned Brazil with an opening goal on 13th minute already when Vincent Kompany forced Fernaninho to score an own-goal. 30 minutes later Selecao failed to hold rapid counterattack by Red Devils and Kevin De Bruyne scored second of the game with spectacular shot from the edge of penalty area. Tite made a number of changes to revitalize attack but his side was able to claw back only one goal on the 76th minute. Big win for Belgium – 2:1.
