The Quantum of Forgiveness - Why my definition of the word "Forgiveness" is different

in #forgiveness7 years ago

What is forgiveness? And how is it quantum?

For many, "forgiveness" is tied in with feeling guilty, or about admitting to doing something wrong and being willing to make things right. "Forgiveness" is also sometimes tied to religious connotations of "sin" and redemption through a higher power.

For me, forgiveness is something different. To me, forgiveness is not a declaration of guilt or willingness to 'repent'. Forgiveness is a statement of innocence. Forgiveness is a release from the burdens and the guilt and the idea that I need to "repent" to a higher power instead of realizing that I am the authority of myself, and therefore forgiveness is actually a self-forgiveness.

How is it quantum?

Self-forgiveness is a fascinating thing because it does not require that you meet a precondition. It does not require you to believe in a certain god or religious ideology. It does not require that you 'atone' and feel guilty for your wrong doing. It requires you to only have the courage to live your self-honesty and be willing to be the better version of you - and the change that comes with that courage can be instantaneous - because you will realize if your self-forgiveness has been effective, has been deep, has been genuine, that the only thing that was holding you back was always yourself.

I have been applying this principle in my life for many years now and I cannot begin to tell you how much my life has changed as a result. This wasn't some magical epiphany that I unlocked alone by myself. I was shown, and given guidance and support throughout the years - and now I am doing the same in whatever way I can to help support others to come to the same realization about self-forgiveness.

The first steps to this is found through http://lite.desteniiprocess.com where the basic tools that enable a person to begin really understanding the principle of self-forgiveness are provided for free.

Awesome Joe, forgiveness truly has amazing potential to be a tool of self-empowerment. It is unfortunate how the term has been "corrupted" by religion over the years and has been made into the opposite of it's real potential to have us give our power away to belief systems. On the other hand, that in itself is something we can change through forgiveness of ourselves for having considered for even a moment that we must suffer in judgment, guilt and shame in the name of a higher authority and that we have not realized ourselves as that authority.

Yes that is a very cool thing. Because we can start with forgiving ourselves for the way we have been accepting the idea of "forgiveness" lol. And already that puts us on a different footing than where we were before.
