Two Out Of Two

Charles Le Clerc has won the last two Grand Prix races and is quickly making a name for himself. No one quite knew what he was made of, but he is definitely showing some good qualities. There is a determination mixed with a bit of a ballsy attitude which is what is needed in a competitive sport like motor racing.

Hamilton and Le Clerc had a ding dong battle at Monza which made the race very interesting. The Ferrari showed what it could do with a competent driver behind the wheel and it was just too quick. Mercedes knew that this race didn't suit their car and as soon as they got within striking distance they didn't have enough power to drive through the dirty air created by the Ferrari out in front.

This is as close as Hamilton got besides being run off the track when they were wheel to wheel.

Using a slip stream for a tow and using it for an overtaking maneuver works on most tracks, but the problem the Mercedes had yesterday was obvious. As soon as they were within the 1 second gap for the DRS to be enabled they could only get within half a second and then dropped back to 1 second again as soon as the parobolica curve came up. The dirty air saved Ferari yesterday as the slipstream allowed other cars to get close but not having enough power to drive through it. A car loses down force when the air isn't stable and this makes the car lose traction.

Hamilton had one chance yesterday and was blocked by a moving Le Clerc and he was warned with a chequered flag which I have never seen before. This is a final warning apparently and I honestly think if this race wasn't in Italy the home of Ferrari he would have received a 5 second penalty. What he did was dangerous and ballsy. I expect no mercy now between Mercedes and Le Clerc going forward and he has made a bed he has to lie in now. Racing is not about winning at all costs and he will receive no favors from anyone now.

Vettel looks out of sorts at the moment and have no idea what is going on with him at this point. Maybe the pressure of having a driver challenging for his number one position is having an effect on him. I know he wasn't happy with what Le Clerc pulled on him in qualifying and he won't take it lightly. Le Clerc has shown another side to his character and he could pay the price for driving too aggressively as he is on the limit. Hamilton mentioned that he now knows what Le Clerc is made of and he won't take a backward step in the future. Hamilton could have easily tapped Le Clerc's back tire, but didn't. I can't say that in the future he wont as Le Clerc it seems is about winning at all costs.

The Italians were happy with the result as Ferrari is an Italian car.

This track and last weeks suited the Ferrari and it won't be the same in Singapore next week. Mercedes and Red Bull are favorite for that event as it isn't about straight line speed with more about speed in corners.

The rules in Formula One are so randomly enforced, and that sucks if you ask me. I love “ballsy” drivers like Le Clerc and Verstappen, but you cannot give one a penalty this week and give another one a warning the next week because it’s at the home circuit of a certain team...

I agree with you and have never seen a chequered flag warning before which means a final warning. I think he would have received a penalty if it wasn't Ferrari's home race. Even his engineer sent him a message telling him not to move on his braking line. The drivers know the rules and they are there for safety reasons. With the recent deaths happening lately they need to be firm on what is right and wrong.

Hey sir, little offtopic, can you refer me some resources where I can get to know more about sports tokens and its tokenomics. I am unable to find the exact resources to know in details about sports just like we have all the details in palnet. I believe that you know better than me about sports, hence asking you. Thanks.

Have you clicked on the three bars on the top right of this page. You must be logged into sports obviously first. You will see sports scot today and that will tell you how many tokens are in circulation plus what is already staked.

I've only ever seen a checkered flag be waved at the end of a race. What color was the one that the waved to warn the guy?

Exactly the same as when you win the race. This was shown on the tv screen and I have never seen it before or even knew of it's existence for warnings. They must have seriously considered deducting or penalizing time, but it was their home race and would have caused chaotic scenes at the end if he hadn't of won. I understand they are trying to grow the sport and I am sure that had something to do with their thinking.

Wow, that is pretty crazy! I would have been so confused as a fan watching.

The rules was good. Thanks for sharing this post.
