Partie n°2 : Comment offrir un environnement convenable à un caméléon.

Les caméléons s’épanouissent dans un climat tropical, il faut donc essayer de garder un bon niveau d’humidité d'environ 75%. Ce qui demande un entretien et du matériel particulier.

Après mûre réflexion nous avons opté pour un abreuvoir électrique imitant une petite cascade spécialement étudiée pour une bonne hydratation de notre reptile cela l'aide aussi à boire plus facilement, les caméléons ne boivent que très peu. Éviter impérativement les bassins et autres gamelles contenant de l'eau stagnante, cela peut créer des complications de santé pour les caméléons. Il est donc primordial d'utiliser ce genre de fontaine.

Il est conseillé d'utiliser un tapi chauffant pour une partie du vivarium, si possible recouverte de fausse végétation hydrater une à deux fois par jour à l'aide d'un pulvérisateur d'eau senne. Il ne faut pas pulvériser les reptiles directement, ce sont des animaux à sang froid.
