Kill the Messenger

During all the shit-show of meaningless politics (Brexit, Russian Collusion, ... ???) something important happened yesterday. Julian Assange was pulled out of the embassy and arrested. There are many strange things, mostly how old he looked. Completely changed from just two years ago! Did they force him to take some medicine in the embassy by sneaking it in his food?

Anyways, we know that this is a big show designed to bring Assange to the US. Initially he was charged with rape, which most likely was a set-up to arrest him. The charges were later dropped but now the UK was charging him for breaking bail terms. A bail that was due to a crime that has never happened. And with the justified fear of being extradited to the US where he would face a partial process. While the US had not charged him with any crime, just hours after his arrest they now opened the first charge, a rather minor one with a maximum of 5 years jail time. This confirms that form the beginning the US was trying to make an example out of Assange.
Most likely the 5 year charge will be used to claim that Assange should accept extradition to the US and face 'justice'. But this will only be the first charge. As soon as Assange is on US soil, they will dump a huge pile of charges on him and lock him up for life.

Assange has a pristine reputation for publishing nothing but the truth. None of the files have been disputed, nothing has been denied. He has exposed the crimes of the US empire, including war crimes, illegal surveillance and political corruption. All of his work is protected by freedom of speech and whistleblowing. His arrest shows the final death for free speech and an independant press. You are allowed to publish what your masters like to hear, but do not dare to show their massive crimes.

Initially most liberals liked Assange because he exposed the crimes of Bush. But Assange is no political hypocrite. He made no difference between Bush, Obama or Clinton and tried to expose the mistakes of any government, no matter which tribe they belong to. And obviously there is always enough to report. Now everyone is upset with Assange and it is no wonder that he gets arrested under Trump. While Trump was a fan when Assange exposed Clintons dirt, he knows that there is enough dirt on him that Assange would drop when he gets his hands on it. The Mueller report is a joke, Assange and wikileaks are the true control instance for out of bounds governments. So better shut them down. And what has been happening was an almost 10 year long played game of destroying the person of Assange, making it very clear for every government critic that they will go a long way to hunt you down.

And what has upset me the most is the tweet of Jeremy Hunt:
Julian Assange is no hero and no one is above the law. He has hidden from the truth for years. Thank you Ecuador and President @Lenin Moreno for your cooperation with @foreignoffice to ensure Assange faces justice.
How many lies can you put in 280 characters? Assange hiding from truth, when he one of the main persons that dig out the truth from the depts of government corruption. Assange facing justice? What are you smoking? And Assange is absolutely one of the greatest hero's of our time. But it seems to a common faith of hero's to be betrayed by the masses and only celebrated ofter death.

We will see what happens next. Maybe we can make enough pressure on the UK to not extradite Assange. I am not very hopeful, but we must try. To support Assange, voice your anger, if you are in the UK, call your local MP. And donate!
