Muck up the water

There are probably hundreds of ways that people fall into fallacies when discussing issues, and of course it's mostly up to us to learn to recognize them, not only within our own ideas but also when we are listening to someone else speak about their position. To me, one of the most damning has to be false equivalencies, and what's worse is that it's pretty common.

You see, the goal here is to make Crowder appear to be "the bad guy" and because that's the goal, almost any method can and will be deployed. Now, I should say that it's not that I'm endorsing the use of these words at all, I think that they can be hurtful, but they pretty much depend on context.

In other words, there's a reality in which these words already have meanings, and they are used in day to day dialogues with those meanings, and then there's a "brand new rule" fabricated precisely to build a false equivalency. If we remove our partisan goggles and strip ourselves from who's liberal or a conservative, the answer is pretty obvious.

Now, this is a blatant example of this fallacy, but make no mistake it's extremely common and a lot more subtle most of the time.

Excellent review @meno and you are right, it happens very often and the use of such words is not acceptable!

Yes, this. All of this. Crowder may be in the wrong, but Emily just violated Twitter's TOS with this lunacy.

LMAO....it's all lunacy. In fact, everyone must be a little bit to comfortable that we worry about each freaking word someone says. Who has time for that? Society is becoming a reality tv show lol.

In all honesty, this is why I rarely use my Twitter anymore. It's too negative of a place. People assume the worst even when you mean the best. Sure, that happens here too. But not to the level of outright toxicity that I see on Twitter.

I love the people on the Steem Blockchain. Y'all are great!

Yes, much better texture to this commodity than other social medias

I wonder if he meant that tranny also meant transmission in the UK? Because it doesn't and it muddies the waters by including it with his first example which pretty much does. I have gone out looking for fags to smoke quite a lot and by that I don't mean shoot gay people dead, gangsta style. :0)

people are being ridiculously unreasonable on twitter these days due to the youtube bans... it's quite toxic

They are, it's getting wild out there!
