ARMBAND (5-minute Freewrite)

Tiny loved riding in the train car with his companions. There was a constant buzz of conversation, laughter, and at times fighting. The circus was his home. These people were his family. They had been since the day the Ringmaster carried him away from that awful fire.

Sitting across from Tiny, the Tattooed Lady unwound her costume. The long sheer silk scarves which covered her intricate designs had done their work for the evening, and it was time to put them to rest. She opened a simple wooden chest and lowered each fluttering fabric down into the case like a butterfly being laid to rest.

She reached for a lotion bottle and put a dab on her fingertpis. Lydia placed the almond butter extract on her right shoulder and smoothed it along her upper arm. The armband tattoo there shimmered in the light of the oil lamp.
